A whole Christmas, hanging from a branch
A clear acrylic globe the size of a plum. Inside it a snow-dusted fir, a lit lantern, ribboned parcels and a drift of snow, built by hand and sealed under the shell. Switch it on and the light comes from inside the scene rather than falling on it.

01   Why it lands
A diorama, not a painted bauble
Most lit ornaments are a bulb behind a coloured shell. This one puts the light behind a miniature room, so what you see is a scene with its own glow inside it — and it looks the same from every side of the tree.
Glows from within
The LED sits behind the scene, so the fir, the lantern and the snow light up together instead of catching a glow from outside.
Acrylic, not glass
It takes a knock against a branch without shattering, and it will not cloud over the way thin blown glass does after a few seasons in a box.
One cord, one loop
The hanging cord is already threaded through the cap. Loop it over a branch or a hook and it is up, with nothing to tie.
Nothing to assemble
The scene is sealed under the shell. No figure to place, no snow to scatter, nothing small enough to lose between the branches.
02   Inside the globe
A Little World of Christmas Wonder

Inside the crystal-clear globe, a graceful angel glows beneath a canopy of warm golden light. A beautifully decorated Christmas tree, delicate lanterns, tiny wrapped gifts, and shimmering accents bring this miniature holiday scene to life. Every detail adds a touch of magic, creating a timeless keepsake that fills your home with warmth, wonder, and the spirit of Christmas.

03   The cap
The part your hands actually touch
Brushed gold, with a cut lattice running around the rim and the hanging loop set into the top. The battery lives inside the cap — twist it open, drop in the cell that comes in the box, twist it back. The switch is underneath: one press on, one press off, and the LED runs cool enough to sit against dry needles and wrapping paper all evening.

04   Eight scenes
One size, eight different rooms
The Christmas Express has a lit headlamp, a snow-capped cab and a tender lettered in gold. The gingerbread house has a candy-cane porch and sugar-pane windows. The nutcracker stands on a drum with his jaw open. Whichever one you pick, the inside is built to be looked at closely rather than printed on a disc.

05   It arrives ready
A box you do not have to wrap
Each globe comes in a kraft gift box tied with a ribbon, with the battery tucked in beside it. Lift the lid, take it out by the cord, hang it. If it is going to somebody else, the box has already done the work — and the whole thing sits in one hand, so it travels in a bag without a second thought.

I bought the snowman for my mother, who has collected them for forty years and has run out of shelf. She hung this one at eye level right where she sits and switches it on before the room lights go on.

Third year I have bought these for the teachers. The box is the reason — I am not wrapping eight of anything, and they still look like I thought about it.

Smaller than I had pictured, and in the end that is the point. Three inches sits properly among real branches. If you want something that fills a doorway, this is not that.

The train is the one. My grandson is four and not allowed near the tree, so I hung it on the wreath at the front door where he can reach it and press the switch himself. He does it every single time he comes in.

The light is warmer than the photographs suggest, closer to a candle than to fairy lights. That is the whole reason it looks right sitting in among real needles instead of fighting them.

The switch is underneath the cap, so you feel for it rather than see it. Two days in and my fingers knew where it was. Everything else — the paint on the gingerbread roof, the little lantern — is neater than I expected at this size.

The room only needs one small light
Every tree has a place where the branches thin out and the ornaments hang too far apart. That is where these belong — three inches of lit scene, close enough to the needles to look as though it grew there.
